Bill Pullman

Just met Billy Crudup

I didn't ask him to marry me but I gave it some serious thought!

About to watch a movie he stars in called Pretty Bird. Psyched about it.

Behind on movie reviews, grrrrr!

Sorry

I have fallen behind in updates because I was sick all day yesterday, boo! Only made it to three movies!

I will say that I just saw my favorite film so far, The Wackness. It was a coming of age tale of a pot dealer's summer before he goes off to college. He struggles with falling in love and dealing with his family's financial problems.  The key relationship was between the boy and his psychiatrist (Ben Kingsley) who accepts pot for therapy sessions.

The film takes place in 1994. It was awesome to see how well they depicted. NYC in that period. The music, the fashion, the political climate.... I think they truly nailed it.

I wonder if there will be a better film than this at the festival. Wow wow wow.

Main Street ... Don't ask me!

Blind Date

This morning at 8:30 we went to Blind Date, directed by and starring Stanley Tucci, one of my favorite filmmakers.  Patricia Clarkson plays his depressed wife, unable to recover from a tragic event in the past.  They engage in a sometimes hilarious and often incredible touching elaborate roleplay to help them cope.

I found it interesting to learn that the film was shot over just seven days. The performances were so perfect - I can't imagine anyone playing them any better.

Highly recommended!
